Well, even those of us who thought it would never come have been bowled over by the full-on arrival of Spring this week. This gloriously warm weather and bright sunshine has us all shedding layers, soaking up the sun and thinking about putting the turtlenecks away for a few months! Come in to see us at the store and revel in the brighter colors and lighter fabrics for Spring and Summer (yes, Summer – it too is on its way!).
Here’s what’s new….

* Flowy linen and brushed cotton separates in neutral tones that soften and warm, like the pieces Kathy is modeling in the photo. The sweet little tunic can be worn as a dress but we love how Kathy pairs it with wide-leg pants. The gorgeous hat is also one of the new season’s collection which includes plenty that are functional as well as fun.
* Lots and lots of Capri pants in lovely soft cotton as well as in denim. Plenty of styles and colors and all with a bit of stretch for comfort as well as fit.
* Darling sundresses including a fabulous little number called the Reversible Chameleon Dress. The top 9 inches of the ‘Chameleon’ are smocked and it has pretty spaghetti straps so it can be worn strapless, halter, over-the-shoulder or even as a high or low-waisted skirt. We have it in a dusky rose with an ash print close to the hem. Come in and play with how you’d wear it!
* Several new longer dresses too, in both prints and solids. We particularly like a slinky, sleeveless cupro number that has an empire waist and floaty layered skirt. It’s perfect for an evening out or dressy occasion – especially if there might be dancing involved since it moves like a dream.
* Tianello’s extra-fine Tencel palazzo pants. Incredibly elegant and a great alternative to a dress for special events.
* All our jewelers have new designs for the new season.
* Fabulous new styles of reading glasses. We have eye-catching patterns in vibrant colors, rim-less ones with colored arms and bridges or classic solid colors in a slightly academic square-ish frame (think ‘take them off and shake out your hair like Miss Moneypenny’).
* Mother’s Day is May 10th and we have a whole range of cards, from whimsical through sparkly to simple and straightforward.
I’ll leave you today with the title poem from Daniel Ladinsky’s translation of Hafiz called The Subject Tonight is Love. Enjoy.
The subject tonight is Love
And for tomorrow night as well,
As a matter of fact
I know of no better topic
For us to discuss
Until we all
Die
